Get over yourselves!
Ever since Paul Feig‘s Ghostbusters reboot was announced, there’s been WAY too much controversy over the female leads.
Once the first trailer dropped, out of the throngs of fans of the original confused about whether this was a remake or a reboot emerged a much more gross bit of fandom — misogynists slamming the movie for its “feminist agenda.”

Without seeing it, these “men’s rights” groups desperately want the movie to fail; and now they’re taking it to a whole new level with conspiracy theories!
Early reviews have been rather more positive than negative, so hardcore fanboys like Reddit user Better_Butter321 have taken to the Internet to try and rally people with posts saying:
“Ok, so obviously the reviews aren’t as bad as we had hoped. So what more can we do at this point to make sure that the public knows that it’s terrible so that it bombs?”
HIGHlariously, it gets more bizarre as the user continued:
“We were doing a pretty good job of filtering out positive reviews in /r/movies, but they consolidated them into a mega thread and now people are starting to say maybe we were wrong. Is there any way to easily get the word out on social media that the positive reviews are probably all paid for?”
Wait, so THEY were working on a plot to sabotage the movie by filtering out positive reviews, and now they’re blaming conspiracy for it not working?
Not to be conspiracy theorists ourselves, but could anyone be such an idiot for real? Maybe it’s something in those chemtrails…
Funny enough, as of this writing Mr. Butter321 had ZERO upvotes for his inane post while dozens of Reddit users slammed his little stunt — proving once again just how small this group of men’s rights advocates really is.

If that’s not bat sh*t crazy enough for you, one Twitter user got a screenshot of one of the WILDEST theories — that good review robots are making the reviews skew artificially positive:
LOLz!
As you can imagine, most of the rest of the world ripped the commenters for their ridiculous theories:
I mean, could you imagine we’d live in a world where dudes would be upset a new Ghostbusters is getting GOOD reviews?

Oh good, the “all positive Ghostbusters reviews were paid for by Sony” conspiracy has begun. A desperate hill for idiots to die on.

It’s like how small does your penis and brain have to be to believe there’s some giant conspiracy around the new Ghostbusters?

Like, you don’t HAVE to be excited for Ghostbusters. I wasn’t pumped for the new Total Recall! But I didn’t go looking for a CONSPIRACY

At the end of the day, all we can say is haters gonna hate!
You can see Ghostbusters when it hits theaters this Friday — and probably will have to once Sony activates the mind control chip in your brain…
