Sometimes, you’ve gotta do whatever it takes as a parent to bond with your child… even if they are thousands of miles away!
Hayden Panettiere has been finding out as much recently, as her four-year-old daughter Kaya continues to live in Ukraine full time with her father, and Hayden’s ex, Wladimir Klitschko. And as it turns out, the 30-year-old actress has had to put in all kinds of extra work to see to it that she can remain a regular in Kaya’s life!

Speaking to Us Weekly about the lengths the former Remember the Titans star has had to go to spend time with her beloved little girl, a source revealed “Hayden frequently travels to Ukraine” to visit Kaya — and when she can’t be there in person, she’s “often” on FaceTime with her adorable mini-me.
Awww! Very cute! And quite the time commitment to be traveling back and forth like that — clearly, Kaya means a LOT to Hayden after the actress has struggled through some tough and uncertain personal times of late.
As we’ve previously reported, the movie star’s life being so “in flux,” and her daughter living thousands of miles away, were major stressors for Panettiere in the recent past, though things appear to be improving rapidly for the entire family.
This insider seems to double down on the improvement, too, noting Kaya is doing remarkably well in Ukraine right now, thanks to “a lot of friends” and a “very hands-on-dad” in the 43-year-old former boxer. At the very least, it’s good to know their daughter has a great support system: dad, friends, and family on a daily basis, and evidently mom on a semi-regular basis coming from the States. Whatever it takes, right?!
Of course, that doesn’t mean there still isn’t drama stateside. Last we heard from Hayden outside of her co-parenting with Klitschko was about a month ago, when the domestic violence case against her ex-boyfriend Brian Hickerson was dismissed by a Los Angeles judge.
A spokesman for the El Lay District Attorney’s office shared (below) with the publication:
“The case against Brian Hickerson was dismissed without prejudice today. Our office was unable to proceed because we could not secure a material witness. The protective order also was dismissed.”

It’s certainly refreshing to hear things are going about as well as to be expected with Hayden’s lovely little daughter. Here’s to more healthy co-parenting!
