The only thing more entertaining than watching the Insane Clown Posse dissect Call Me Maybe or rap about Miracles will probably be to watch them try to sue the FBI in a court of law.
Violent J and Shaggy 2 Dope filed a lawsuit against the Federal Bureau of Investigation this week because their fan base — commonly called Juggalos — has been labeled as a “loosely-organized hybrid gang.”
Apparently, getting wasted in the middle of nowhere while throwing beer bottles at Charlie Sheen during the annual Gathering of the Juggalos qualifies them as “a criminal organization formed on the street.” That’s what the FBI’s 2011 National Gang Threat Assessment report determined anyway.
Well, ICP and their fans and the entire music community have a message for the government agency — they’re not a gang!
They’re a posse. Duh! LOLz!
All jokes aside, they are legitimately upset about the classification. The rappers believe their fans are essentially being persecuted because if a Juggalo gets arrested for doing something dumb (like “selling weed”), instead of being charged “as a civilian”, he or she can be charged “as a gang member.”
Mr. 2 Dope expressed his concerns with this articulate statement to the press:
“You’re trying to grow love in your country and sh*t, then the head of your country — the FBI — just turns around and f*cking kicks you in the nuts. How are you supposed to respond to that?”
Without dropping the F-bomb, perhaps? Just a thought!
We probably won’t ever agree on much with these two guys, but we can agree on this: “Just because you like a music group, doesn’t make you a criminal.”
