AWFUL! Iraq War Vet Might Lose His Pet Ducks Even Though They Help With His PTSD!

Darin Welker, 36, is an Army vet who suffers from depression and post-traumatic stress disorder.
What helps him get by? His 14 pet “therapy ducks” who live in a penned-in area of his backyard, next to a kiddie pool for swimming.
When serving, Welker suffered a major back injury that required surgery in 2012. The V.A. paid for the surgery but wouldn’t pay for physical therapy or counseling.
So it’s his ducks that give him a reason to get out of bed each day, keeping him active. It’s his ducks that help keep his depression and PTSD at bay.
Welker lives in West Lafayette, Ohio, where residents aren’t allowed to keep fowls or other farm animals.
He’s already paid a $150 fine for owning the ducks, now he’s due in court after failing to comply to his original misdemeanor charge.
He’s going to appear in Coshocton Municipal Court and plead his case, his only help coming from a letter from the V.A.’s mental health department recommending he be allowed to keep the ducks.
We really realllllly hope this judge sees the light and allows this man to keep his pet ducks! They’re all he’s got!!
