Yeah. As if he’d actually come clean!
John Edwards has pled not guilty to the six felony charges he’s currently facing, which include conspiracy, false statements, and campaign law violations!
In a statement given outside a Federal Court in North Carolina, the presidential candidate said:
“There’s no question that I’ve done wrong and I take full responsibility for having done wrong. And I will regret for the rest of my life the pain and the harm that I have caused to others but I did not break the law and I have never, ever thought I was breaking the law.”
As of now, the judge set no bail for him, and Edwards was released on his own recognizance. He has to surrender his passport, and is restricted to traveling in just the states. He also must stay away from Bunny Mellon, the 100-year-old who allegedly gave him the big bucks to cover up his affair with Rielle Hunter.
As the indicment reads:
“Edwards knew that public revelation of the affair and pregnancy would destroy his candidacy by, among other things, undermining Edwards’ presentation of himself as a family man and by forcing his campaign to divert personnel and resources away from other campaign activities to respond to criticism and media scrutiny.├óΓé¼┬¥
Unbelievable.
We think it’s pretty clear that this man is capable of doing some pretty heinous, deplorable things, so forgive us if we’re less than prone to believe that he is guiltless in this matter!
As we said before: whomp, whomp!
Actions have consequences…and he has some BIG ONES coming his way!
