Want To Look Like Kate Beckinsale At 46? Too Bad, Her Diet Is IMPOSSIBLE!

Kate Beckinsale Body Diet Workout Schedule

Look, we all know Kate Beckinsale is some kind of impossibly ageless beauty. But it isn’t all genetics or black magic keeping her looking like a fit 19-year-old.

She actually has an intense workout regimen, as well as one of the strictest diets we’ve ever heard of. And she’s spilling all in the upcoming January/February issue of Women’s Health.

Before we get into the nitty gritty of the exercise routine, let’s start with that diet.

Before her daily workouts, she consumes protein in the form of “chicken or eggs with grass-fed butter.” Later in the day, she typically eats salmon and salads with radishes, brussels sprouts, and safflower oil. When she’s feeling naughty she indulges in the “occasional” handful of potato chips. And that’s just about her only vice, diet-wise.

The Underworld star never touches alcohol. Not only that, she is allowed virtually no stimulants and absolutely ZERO caffeine. That means no coffee and no energy drinks, sure. But it also means no chocolate. Almost ever.

It’s not just discipline that keeps Kate sticking to her austere menu. She chalks it up to a natural physical sensitivity which means she CAN’T have those things without severe side effects:

“If I ate too much dark chocolate, it would be like someone else taking cocaine.”

Wow! Is she for real? Or is this a technique to keep her in line — and in shape?

The 46-year-old says it’s the real deal, something she’s been dealing with her whole life:

“I think some people’s systems are just a bit sensitive to things. If you told me you had nausea yesterday, I might start throwing up myself.”

Yeesh!

Unfortunately she can’t just keep fit by thinking about working out. She has to actually do it. And she does, six mornings a week with trainer Brad Siskind of celeb trainer Gunnar Peterson‘s gym. Siskind gushes:

“She’s a strong person. I see her six days a week, and she rarely misses a workout. If she does, there’s a good reason. Because otherwise, she’s crushing it… The whole hour is work.”

Here’s a breakdown of the nonstop workout:

  • 8 compound exercises which work two muscle groups each (e.g. a bicep curl/squat combo, situps while shadow boxing).
  • 90-120 seconds of cardio (such as rowing or climbing)
  • 8 compound exercises AGAIN only with heavier weights, faster reps, etc.
  • 15 mins of cardio, either lightweight ropes or treadmill

The actress occasionally posts clips of the intense workouts on her Instagram:

Beckinsale got started working out in her 20s to get in shape for Pearl Harbor, but now she says it’s more about stress relief than solid abs:

“I’m very connected to my body, so if I’m going to experience stress, I’m probably going to experience it physically. So it’s usually a good idea for me to go do something physical to get rid of it. I kind of have to think of myself as a horse or something — time for a run around the paddock…

Now exercise is almost more important to me moodwise. The other aspects feel like a great side effect.”

Well, eternal youth may be a side effect for her, but it’s the Holy Grail for others. But do YOU have the discipline to work out six mornings a week and never have coffee or chocolate?
