Kenya's Biggest Elephant, A Rare Huge Tusked Bull, Killed By Poachers

Satao was a seriously impressive elephant who lived in Tsavo East National park in northern Kenya.
He was one of the last of the great tuskers: genetically unique bull elephants whose tusks are so huge, they can rest them on the ground while standing.
Sadly, Satao was killed by poachers.
Word of his death had been spreading for days before it was confirmed because no one wanted to believe he had been killed. He was so rare he had his own personal protection but poachers still got to him.
Satao had already survived being shot with two poison arrows and endured days of pain from the poison and the wounds.
Poachers obviously wanted him because his tusks were so much bigger than any other elephants’.
Bigger tusks mean more money on the black-market. Who is buying all this ivory??!
This is just so awful. Something seriously needs to be done about this poaching problem before there are no animals left.
