Kristin Davis Receives Prestigious Humane Society Award

Kristin Davis wins prestigious Humane Society award
Congratulations!
Sex and the City star Kristin Davis has been named the 2011 recipient of the Humane Society of the United States’ most prestigious honor, the Wyler Award.
The actress has been given the honor for her dedication to African elephant rescue and will be recognized at the HSUS Genesis Awards in Los Angeles on March 19, surrounded by other animal-loving celebs.
Kristin explained her excitement in a statement, saying:

“I am so excited to receive the Wyler Award from the Humane Society of the United States, as it gives me the opportunity to keep talking about an issue that’s a profound labor of love for me. Elephants are truly amazing and they need our protection.”

In 2009 Kristin found an abandoned elephant in the lava slopes of Kenya’s Chyulu Hill during a drought and arranged for the lone baby to be taken to Nairobi’s David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust, which rehabilitates orphaned elephants and rhinos before reintroducing them into the wild.
She named the elephant Chaimu, then adopted her and helps to fund her care.
Sounds like she really deserves this award and are happy to hear she is getting it!
Previous recipients of the Wyler Award include Sir Paul McCartney, Hayden Panettiere, Ellen DeGeneres and Portia DeRossi.
