Lorde Apologizes For Comparing Friendship With Taylor Swift To An 'Autoimmune Disease' -- See What She Had To Say!

lorde apologizes for taylor swift autoimmune disease comment
Someone’s backtracking!
As we previously reported, Lorde shocked fans when she seemingly shaded bestie Taylor Swift by comparing her to an “autoimmune disease” in a recent interview with The Guardian. Specifically, the analogy came up when the Green Light singer was discussing how difficult it was being friends with someone as famous as TayTay.

At the time, the 20-year-old (whose real name is Ella Yelich-O’Connor) said:

“It’s like having a friend with very specific allergies. There are certain places you can’t go together. Certain things you can’t do. There are these different sets of considerations within the friendship. It’s like having a friend with an autoimmune disease.”

Of course, it wasn’t long before fans started calling out the hitmaker for the insensitive comment — especially since fellow Swift Squad member Selena Gomez DOES suffer from an autoimmune disease, called lupus. Eek.
Thankfully, Lorde has since apologized for her remarks as she responded to one fan on Twitter:

Way to do the right thing, girl.
Now we can focus on what really matters — Lorde’s BANGER of a new album. If you haven’t started listening to Melodrama yet, you are MISSING OUT!!
