This is so incredibly sad.
The production crew and cast of Mark Wahlberg and Kate Hudson‘s newest film Deepwater Horizon is currently devastated by the loss of one of their stuntmen.
41-year-old Shawn Robinson was found dead in his New Orleans hotel room last week after he failed to show up to set on July 28th and another stuntman went to check on him.

Shawn was the son of legendary stuntman Dar Robinson, who tragically died in an accident when his motorcycle went off a cliff while he was filming a scene for Million Dollar Mystery. Shawn also has a brother, Troy, who is Vin Diesel‘s stunt double.
There are no details about the cause of death but Lionsgate, the company behind the film, released a statement saying:

“On behalf of the producers, cast and crew of Deepwater Horizon and the entire Lionsgate family, we want to send our most heartfelt condolences to the family of Shawn Robinson. Shawn was a gifted stunt performer and a beloved and trusted member of our crew. We grieve with his family over this tremendous loss.”

Shawn was extremely well respected in the industry having worked on such projects as: all three Transformers movies, Guardians of the Galaxy, Captain America: The Winter Soldier, The Lone Ranger, and X-Men: The Last Stand.
Our thoughts are with all of those affected by Shawn’s passing.
