Meghan Markle may want to prepare herself to be forced to officially confirm once and for all the names of the alleged royal racists — at least if her estranged half-sister has anything to say about it!
The Duchess of Sussex has been sued for defamation by Samantha Markle over comments in her and Prince Harry’s Netflix docuseries and interview with Oprah Winfrey in 2021. Those comments, Samantha claims, subjected her to “worldwide hatred, contempt, and ridicule.” The lawsuit states Meghan claimed she “grew up as an only child,” and Samantha only changed her name back to Markle when she began dating the Duke of Sussex. As a result, the remarks allegedly made her appear like a “liar for profit and fame.”

Now, Samathna’s attorney will demand both Meghan and Harry submit to a deposition, meaning the couple would be interviewed under oath. And while being questioned, one huge topic could come up, and she potentially be forced to answer it. What is it? The identity of the alleged royal racists who expressed “concerns” about how dark their then-unborn son Archie’s skin tone would be.
Samantha’s lawyer, Peter Ticktin, told The Sun that he wants to ask Meghan about “family matters” as part of the libel action, which could include the royal family racism scandal. He explained:
“The royal racists issue needs to be explored. There’s reasons why she abandoned her family and turned on her family. This is a person who wants to be able to say horrible things and not really care if she destroyed the lives of people in her family. She doesn’t care if she destroys the monarchy.”
Whoa!
We already have an inkling of who the alleged royal racists could be. Perezcious readers will recall that Omid Scobie’s book Endgame revealed letters were written and exchanged between Meghan and King Charles III after her and Harry’s interview with Oprah. In the correspondence, the identities of two royal racists were exposed. Scobie knew the names of the culprits but didn’t reveal them due to legal reasons. However, there was a slight snafu amid the book’s release. The Dutch version included the identities of the royals!
The edition was pulled from the bookshelves. But then Piers Morgan happened. He took it upon himself to spill the tea and claim the two family members were Charles and Princess Catherine. Neither the royal family nor the Sussexes have confirmed these details. Apparently, sources insisted Meghan never “intended them to be publicly identified.” However, she may have no choice! If Samantha gets her way, Meghan potentially will have to answer questions about the matter — and we could get confirmation on their identities once and for all. So the former actress undoubtedly will be fighting this issue tooth and nail now!
Ticktin told the outlet her legal team is even “stonewalling” their requests for information in the case as they hope a judge will just dismiss it. He is not giving up, though. The attorney said he plans to file a motion with the court next month requesting they hand documents over. Oof.
