We so hoped this couple could be one of the rare few to survive Hollywood demons.
Unfortunately, we’re sad to report that Michael Douglas and Catherine Zeta-Jones have allegedly separated after nearly 13 years, according to two reliable sources.
Seeing as how they haven’t been photographed together since April, this makes sense. Not only have they worked red carpets solo, they’ve vacationed separately as well.
Was it the stress of his cancer and her bipolar II disorder?
One of the insiders says yes, saying both have taken a definite toll on their marriage.
But don’t go grabbing that pint of Chocolate Therapy just yet, romance fans. There’s still hope here. Though they’ve separated for now, we hear they’re only “taking a break,” and the sources explain that neither party has taken action for a legal separation or divorce.
Apparently they decided to spend some time apart in May, after Michael’s trip to Cannes. The sources go on to say they want the best for their two children (aged 10 and 13), no matter what.
Good luck, you two. We hope for the best outcome for all.
