Yikes… not a good look!
Director Peter Berg found himself in some hot water yesterday after he posted a photo on his Instagram page about Caitlyn Jenner that many rightfully saw as transphobic.
And now, he’s backing off of his earlier post with a clarification.

It all started when Berg posted this meme to Instagram:

Then, after receiving quite a bit of backlash over it, he uploaded a new picture and message on Thursday night:
I have the utmost respect for Caitlyn Jenner and I am a strong supporter of equality and the rights of trans people everywhere. I also believe that we don’t give enough attention to our courageous returning war veterans, many of whom have sacrificed their bodies and mental health for our country and our principals- principals that include the freedom to live the life you want to live without persecution or abuse.A photo posted by Peter Berg (@pberg44) on Jul 16, 2015 at 2:00pm PDT
In the caption, Berg wrote:

Clearly, the director had a change of heart between his earlier meme and last night’s comments.
What do U think — should Berg be vilified for his earlier comments?
