It sounds like one former Pussycat is still a little raw over the band’s 2010 breakup!
Carmit Bachar, the sexy redheaded member of The Pussycat Dolls, recently revealed how she thinks it was Nicole Scherzinger‘s SECRET battle with bulimia AND her solo career ambitions that were the main reasons behind the pop group’s split.
Nicole mentioned her struggles with bulimia and her body image for the FIRST TIME during a 2012 interview, so unless they were super aware, none of the Pussycats would have known about it before then.
The flamehaired puss shared:
“It├óΓé¼Γäós quite scary but obviously that can affect you deeply, emotionally obviously there are things there that need to be dealt with too but we were working so hard so we didn├óΓé¼Γäót think.
I might be stupid and oblivious to things, but I didn├óΓé¼Γäót see any of [the eating disorder]. Obviously people who have disorders like that are very good at hiding it. I feel stupid though not knowing. We were so close and I was shocked. I thought how could you hide that? We would go out together, go to dinners, label dinners, and we├óΓé¼Γäód all eat and I mean when do you have time to do that? I don├óΓé¼Γäót understand it.”
She went on to talk about Nicole’s self-propelled push into the spotlight, expressing:
“She├óΓé¼Γäós ambitious and she├óΓé¼Γäós driven and she wanted to have her solo career. We were made very aware of that. I was never thinking about a lead, to me a group is a group, so I thought it was gonna be more of like all of us. We didn├óΓé¼Γäót think it was going to veer to being as much of Nicole as it did. We thought of her as being the lead vocalist and spearheading the situation but then it really became a separation between us.”
Oof, yeah, we imagine that would sting!
Ah well, we’re just glad that Nicole has (seemingly) gotten her eating issues under control!
And even though we LOVED those seductive pop jams that the Pussycat Dolls churned out on the regular, we also love ourselves some solo Nicole.
