British TV commentator John Inverdale interviewed Murray after the big victory and became the umpteenth to get sexist with his Olympics coverage.
See, the reporter stated Murray made a little history with his big win over Argentina’s Juan Martin Del Potro, saying:

“You’re the first person ever to win two Olympic tennis gold medals. That’s an extraordinary feat, isn’t it?”

Uh, yes, it is an extraordinary feat… but it’s already been done by Venus and Serena Williams!
Murray was taken aback by how somebody could just forget Venus and Serena, so he shot right back at Iverdale:

“Well, to defend the singles title … I think Venus and Serena [Williams] have won about four each but hadn’t defended a singles title before. I mean it’s obviously not an easy thing to do. I had to fight unbelievably hard to get it tonight as well. Yeah, I’ll enjoy this one.”

So, to recap…
Reporter: forgets women exist.
Gold medalist: uh, no, women exist, and they’re awesome at tennis.
LOVES IT!!!

The man just won a gold medal and he’s composed enough to shout-out to the women who came before him!
That is the MOST admirable!!
After some tough stories coming out of Rio, we sure need positive news in the worst way!
