Diane Sawyer has the interview of the year coming up Friday night with Bruce Jenner, but before that airs, she’s got another good get — a hug from Robert Downey, Jr.!

The Avengers: Age Of Ultron star posted the chummy pic (above) to his newly acquired Instagram, but he wasn’t just tipping his hat to the vet journalist.
He was totally using the photo to get in a dig at a third party! He wrote:
“A corrective experience with legitimate journalism @kellyandmichael #dianesawyer #kellyandmichael #avengers #ageofultron #presstour #marvel #earlybirds”
The post was obviously some expertly thrown shade at Krishnan Guru-Murthy, whose awkward interview questions caused the normally chill RDJ to up and walk out!
The Iron Avenger had even chided the Channel 4 News reporter with a “little Diane Sawyer” crack as he left, so we’re guessing this is going to be quite an obvious sting.
Even to someone who seems to have trouble reading the room…
