It’s been a big day for Sandra Bullock!
To recap, the actress announced on Wednesday that she has expanded her family and adopted her second child, Laila!
So exciting!

But for the A-lister, the process wasn’t entirely smooth, especially since one of her main concerns was protecting her 3 1/2-year-old’s privacy while fostering her.
The 51-year-old divulged in the newest issue of People:
“You feel it’s very much like witness protection.”
There have been rumors of Sandra adopting a little sister to join her and her son, Louis, ever since 2012, so it’s easy to see what she means.
Though she continued, sharing that it was one trip to the emergency room before Laila’s adoption was finalized that almost unraveled it all:
“Unbeknownst to me, a photographer had followed us and taken a photo of us in line. The next day, I learned that a photo of her was being shopped around for sale to every outlet around the world. I had promised and legally agreed to protect her from something like this, and here I was chasing down lawyers ├óΓé¼ΓÇ¥ having them begging them to keep her safe.”
We wouldn’t want to mess with this momma bear!!
It’s very clear SB just wants to keep her children safe, and she added:
“Most foster children are in foster care because they were taken from their birth homes under tragic circumstances ├óΓé¼ΓÇ¥ and the last thing I wanted was to bring more harm to her because of the nature of my job.”
Well, we’re so happy they get to be a family!
