Ever since her first break, her parents have been there for her!
But Selena Gomez declined to keep’em, and actually fired her mother Mandy and step-father Brian Teefey as her managers. She actually did this last month!
Her thinking, according to those in the know, is that she’s outgrown her parents’ ways, and is a grown up now.
Of course, that means she needs a grown up manager! We guess that makes sense!
We’re told her and her parents are still close, although the parents are predictably unhappy about the move.
Where’s their piece of the pie now? Maybe they can be Selena’s roadies now?

P.S. — Are we SUUURE that Justin Bieber‘s lifestyle choices didn’t have anything to do with this?? We hear he was the source of plenty of family arguments!
