Sony Threatens To Sue Twitter Over Leaks!

no title
The Sony hack is still rippling outward, the dominoes are still falling and people are still picking up the pieces.
In the latest attempt to plug the leak, Sony’s high-profile lawyer David Boies has sent a letter to Twitter telling them to stop sharing hacked information.

Parts of the letter he sent said:

“[If] stolen information continues to be disseminated by Twitter in any manner [Sony will] hold Twitter responsible for any damage or loss arising from such use or dissemination by Twitter.”

Wait… what??
They’re going to hold Twitter responsible for what their users are doing?
Boies also asks that Twitter comply with any future requests for information regarding certain accounts that have been posting leaked emails!!
They want Twitter to narc out their own users! (Though it is only the users sharing stolen information.)
We previously mentioned this already happened with journalists, where Boies demanded they stop using stolen information for stories.
We assume that Twitter is obviously going to block or remove users who share illegal things but this almost raises a bigger question.
Is a social media site liable for what its users do?
