Not even one of Hollywood’s biggest actors can escape the adorable persistence of Girl Scouts!
A Girl Scout troop selling cookies in the San Francisco Bay Area had a great day of sales with the help of none other than movie star, Tom Hanks!

The 58-year-old superstar was visiting his son, Truman, at Stanford University. The two were out shopping when the girls approached the actor.
Hanks not only bought cookies, along with an extra $20 donation, but he helped the girls sell even more boxes!

After the Hollywood legend agreed to snap a picture with the girls, other people started to recognize the star and asked for a photo as well. His response was:
“Only if you buy cookies from these young ladies.”
Ha!
Archana Appanna, the mother to one of the three girl scouts is a huge fan of Hanks’s work, including You’ve Got Mail and Sleepless in Seattle. She had this to say about their run in with one of Hollywood’s elite:
“He was so personable, so down to earth. We did not know who he was (at first) because he covered his face with a baseball cap and glasses.”
But luckily, the girls realized who he was before he got away. We wonder if the girls recognized the actor from Carly Rae Jepsen‘s new music video?
Either way, the run-in worked out out for Hanks as well, who took home four boxes of Girl Scout cookies!
Eat up, Tom! You deserve it!​
