Celebrity smut peddler David Hans Schmidt has been arrested!
He messed with the wrong star this time – Tom Cruise.
The FBI detained Schmidt on Tuesday and it is believed he is being held at their federal detention center in LA for attempting to blackmail the Scientologist.
The self-proclaimed “Sultan of Sleaze” allegedly tried to sell Cruise a large cache of private photos from the actor’s November 2006 wedding to Katie Holmes. He was demanding $1 million for the pics, which Cruise’s lawyer says were stolen.
Schmidt approached Cruise’s camp earlier this year about the pics and Tom’s lawyer immediately called the FBI. The matter was then handled by federal investigators (presumably with some working in an undercover capacity).
One thing lead to another and now Schmidt is behind bars.
Unfortunately, there are no nude pics in the bunch of stolen photos. Then why did the smut peddler think he could get $1 mill for them?
