Who needs the Oscars when the "real winners" of 2008 are the studios who earned the most bang for their buck?

The "winners" according to Forbes Magazine, at least.

After much time-consuming number-crunching on their end, Forbes broke down the $$$.

Robert Downey Jr. helped Paramount Pictures come out on top by earning $52.60 for every dollar Downey was paid for his Oscar nominated role in Tropic Thunder.

Oscar nom and industry legend Meryl Streep brought in top dollar for Universal Pictures, earning them $12.00 on the dollar for Streep's performance in last summer's ABBA musical, Mamma Mia!

Juno also made the list, holding the top spot for both most profitable film and director.

Newsweek has just held their 13th annual Oscar Roundtable, in which six celebs get together to talk about their performances and personal lives.

The panel this year included Brad Pitt, Robert Downey Jr., Anne Hathaway, Fran Langella, Sally Hawkins, and homophobe Mickey Rourke.

The stars were asked if it's hard for them to draw a line between their private and public lives, and if they ever "Google" themselves. To which Pitt replied with, "Dear God. No. Never. First of all, I don't really know how to operate a computer." But he does add, "Oh yeah, I have a BlackBerry."

We hope Pitt and Ange teach their kids how to use a computer, though. Or their kids will probably teach them!

As for Anne, she said she doesn't google herself as well.

At least RDJ was all honest about it!

Says Downey, "Oh, I love all that shit, personally. Sorry. I love just it. Because it's a hoot. Some people overstate their support, like they know you. Other people are busy doing something else and just want to go on this chat site and say some despicable character assassination, which I honestly think they kind of nailed it. I do have that shortcoming. It's really fun."

And then, just like a scene out of elementary school, Hathaway said, "OK, I have a confession. I lied before when you asked if I Googled myself. I do. I embarrassed by it because I know how terrible it is."

It's not terrible, bb!

According to a new survey, movie theater owners heart Will Smith big time because he reels in the big bucks.

Tom Cruise's best friend was voted the star who generated the most box office revenue for theaters in an annual survey by Quigley Publishing Co.

This summer, the Will flick Hancock made a jaw dropping $228 million.

Robert Downey, Jr. is reportedly acting like a major diva on the set of his latest flick, Sherlock Holmes.

RDJ is allegedly being a prick on set and making people misserable asking for shit left and right.

Sounds like your typical A-lister!

One source says, "Robert had one crew member running around like a headless chicken trying to find a straw after he demanded one for his drink. The poor guy was stressing as they were in the middle of nowhere on an old dockyard, so there was hardly a convenience store nearby."

Well, a freaking straw doesn't sound so bad.

Seriously, some people don't like drinking out of a can, due to the germs and shit. A straw? Puh-lease, get the man his straw already.

The former druggie is also a bit cocky it seems. Not literally, we're guessing.

A source adds that "Robert also has a habit of telling everyone how great his last scene was - just after he's filmed it."

Ok, so maybe he's a bit self-absorbed or what not. But somehow we think the people on set are just a bit too sensitive.

If they want to see a real diva, maybe they should work with Mariah Carey or Beowulf.

We have a feeling they'd love RDJ after that!

Eeeks!

A few days ago, Robert "Sherlock" Downey Jr. got knocked out by a 350 lb extra during the filming of a fight scene. RDJ was supposedly 'drooling blood', was revived by set medics and then had his inner mouth stitched up by a nurse.

A source on the Guy Ritchie directed movie reported, “Robert was accidentally caught on the chin by a thundering hook. He went flying and was out cold. He didn’t want to go to hospital and kept trying to get up. He’s a trooper. But there have been lots of other problems too.”

One of the problems the source is probably alluding to happened on Friday.

A gas tanker blew up on set forcing Guy to shut down production for a few hours.

There's rumblings that the movie may be 'cursed'.

Hmmm….

Who could've hexed Guy's film????

Amid all the Iron Man rumors and speculations regarding the Terrence Howard-for-Don Cheadle, cast and crew has managed to remain mum, leaving fans to devise their own reactions and theories.

In an interview with MTV News, the film's star Robert Downy Jr. finally commented on the situation.

But the usually outspoken actor was cautious to not say too much.

"I had nothing to do with that decision. I love Terrence very very much. That’s all I’ll say because I haven’t talked to him yet." He adds, "I’ve always admired Don [Cheadle]. It’s one of those situations where I still don’t quite know what happened or why. Here’s what happens too: things happen and you wind up commenting on them before you’ve actually talked to the people and it’s in poor taste."

Focusing his attention on the burgeoning franchise, Downey reassures fans that director Jon Favreau wants only to make the best films he can.

"We’ve just got to keep rolling up our sleeves higher and further up the elbow. If we show up and we’re in the right head space and our heart’s in the right spot and we really think about the audience at every turn and we don’t try to stamp our hipness onto anything. It’s very interactive."

Yup, we're sure they also have to roll up their sleeves to carry their money bags to the bank.
