Chris Martin must be a very happy man right now!
We’re almost certain that anyone would be happy though, to see their ex and current love getting along so well …and that appears to be the case with Gwyneth Paltrow and Dakota Johnson!

The ladies got together on Monday night to celebrate their mutual friend, Derek Blasberg‘s, birthday. For those who may not know, Blasberg is a writer and editor at Vanity Fair, so naturally his b-day bash boasted some pretty impressive celebrity guests.
It seems like Derek was most excited to pose with his two gal pals, who obviously share a connection to each other through Martin. Their bud captioned the group shots together (below) with a nod to the Iron Man actress’ now-famous phrase. He wrote:
“Consciously throupling”
Ha!! Very clever!
The Avengers star coined and used the original term, “conscious uncoupling”, in her 2014 Goop blog post announcement of her split from the Coldplay front man, who’s notably absent from this sweet set of photos.
Seriously, where you at Chris? You’re missing this golden moment here!
Blasberg also shared another group shot with his birthday guests — including Neil Patrick Harris, David Burtka and Gwyneth’s current husband Brad Falchuk — on his Instagram Stories, too.

We can assume that Paltrow likely stopped by the party after the Avengers: Endgame premiere, as it appears she’s rocking the same all-black, sultry look from the earlier red carpet.
Looks like such a fun time with friends!!
And we’re so glad to see that these ladies truly are getting along IRL, as recent sources have suggested. The timing is especially important too, as those same reports claim that Chris and Dakota are this close to getting engaged.
Insiders speaking to E! News previously described the happy couple’s relationship as “very serious,” and also shared that “their families hang out often and they are all very comfortable with each other.” The source added:
“Dakota has a great relationship with his kids and with [ex Gwyneth Paltrow].”
And while the lovebirds figure out the next step in their relationship, Paltrow says she and Martin will continue to co-parent their two kids, Apple and Moses, the best way they can:
“We really made the commitment to maintaining the family—even though we weren’t going to be a couple… And so we sort of thought through that: How would that work and how would that be? Both Chris and I have made a commitment to continue to love the things about each other that we’ve always loved and to really continue to develop our friendship and to find ways to continue to communicate.”
