Huh!? Abby Lee Miller Sues Hampton Inn and Suites, Says Falling Door Crushed Her!

Abby Lee Miller is making some serious allegations against Hampton Inn and Suites after an allegedly nightmarish stay!

In a new lawsuit obtained by TMZ on Tuesday, the Dance Moms alum alleges that she suffered a scary incident in her hotel room that left her trapped for an extended period of time! According to court docs, in August 2020, the reality personality — who has been in an electric wheelchair since 2018 due to her lymphoma battle — was leaving the bathroom in her room when a part of the sliding door got caught on the back left wheel of her chair. She attempted to free herself, but the door, estimated to weigh more than 300 pounds (!!!), fell on her! OMG!

The door allegedly crashed on her head and left shoulder, trapping her there “for approximately six to twelve minutes,” the document states. That’s a pretty long time to be stuck and in pain! Miller tried calling for help the entire time she was stuck, but it took a while for two hotel staff members to find her and get the door off. She was taken by ambulance to St. John’s Hospital in Santa Monica to get treated. She suffered injuries to her head and shoulder, problems she is still going to physical therapy to resolve today. Wow!

But that’s not all. Throughout her extended stay between March and October 2020, the dance teacher suffered even more issues when it came to her ability to get around the hotel in her wheelchair. She claimed the laundry room was not accessible to wheelchairs and other parts of the hotel — such as the hallways — were often blocked by housekeeping carts. She was also unable to open doors to the pool and gym, seemingly because of her disability, as well.

When she “contacted the front desk for assistance” about these accessibility issues, staff reportedly “ignored” her. So not okay! As a result of all these problems, Abby is suing the hotel’s parent corporation for negligence, emotional distress, discrimination, and false imprisonment. She’s seeking at least $8.5 million in damages. The hotel chain has yet to address the allegations or lawsuit.

As mentioned, the 56-year-old was diagnosed with a rare form of non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma after she underwent surgery for what was believed to be a spinal infection four years ago.  She has been in a wheelchair ever since, and, judging by this lawsuit, it sounds like that has come with a lot of challenges.
