Angelina Jolie Says 'Of Course' Brad Pitt Is A Wonderful Father Despite Complicated Split

Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt may be divorcing, but they’re still family!
On Tuesday, the Maleficent actress appeared on Good Morning America to promote her newest film, First They Killed My Father. However, the A-lister ended up dishing about the state of her relationship with her estranged husband and discussed the “health” of their family.

While chatting with George Stephanopoulos via satellite in Cambodia, the mother-of-six noted:

“We are focusing on the health of our family. So we will be stronger when we come out of this because that’s what we’re determined to do as a family.”

In case you forgot, Brangelina have been wrapped up in a pretty messy custody battle ever since the By The Sea director filed for divorce back in September. Not only has there been some mud slinging in the press, but Pitt was also subjected to a child abuse investigation by the FBI AND Child Protective Services. The Oscar winning producer has since been cleared by both organizations!
Obviously, the ABC News journalist couldn’t help but ask Angie if she thought Pitt was still a “wonderful father” and “part of the family.” Without hesitation, Miz Jolie answered:

“Of course. We will always be a family. Always.”

For the sake of the Brangelina Brood, we’re thrilled to hear this! And despite the Jolie-Pitt clan’s family drama, it appears as though the 41-year-old is as close as she’s ever been with her kiddos — especially with her oldest son, Maddox. As you may recall, Angelina adopted Maddox from Cambodia back in 2002. So it’s no wonder her latest project about the Khmer Rouge regime means so much to the humanitarian and her family.
On being on set with Maddox, Jolie shared:

“I don’t know much of my child’s birth parents but I believe they would have gone through this war. I wanted to understand him and his culture in a deeper way, and I wanted to bring this story to this country in their language… So, being with him on set and studying the history of his country with him, and being with his fellow countrymen every day was extraordinary.”

Angelina’s other teenage son, named Pax, also worked on the film as he did the still photography. Nonetheless, Jon Voight‘s grandchildren aren’t rushing into the film industry as “they’d rather be musicians.” Huh.
