This Is What Ariana Grande's Hair REALLY Looks Like Now

Ariana Grande‘s hair is iconic.

It’s long, straight, silky, and perpetually in a high ponytail.

Except… it isn’t. Not really.

No, that is not what Ari’s hair really looks like, as she reminded fans with an Instagram Story video after her Tampa concert late Sunday night.

Captioning the vid with the words “the most hair,” the Thank U Next singer ran her fingers through her natural curls, or what’s left of them anyway.

Ari has previously spoken about the damage her hair has taken from years of bleaching and dying it bright red for her Nickelodeon show Sam and Cat. In 2014, she wrote:

“I had to bleach my hair and dye it red every other week for the first 4 years of playing Cat… as one would assume, that completely destroyed my hair. I now wear a wig on Sam & Cat. My real hair is back to brown and I wear extensions but I wear it in a pony tail because my actual hair is so broken that it looks absolutely ratchet and absurd when I let it down.”

Without the hair extensions it definitely looks less pristine and perfect… but maybe that’s a good thing!

Her fans definitely thought so!

As one wrote on Twitter:

“KEEP UR HAIR LIKE THIS ALL THE TIME ISS HELLA CUTE”

The question is, what would her hair look like if she didn’t keep trying to make it look the same with extensions and straightening?

Back in February she revealed what it looked like before her TV career, the actual natural Grande, in an adorable throwback photo.

She wrote:

“if i’m honest ….. this is still exactly what i look like without lashes and my pony ….. anyone who knows me knows me knows ….. like …. i’m twenty five. i was five here. the only difference now is that hand now says bbq grill finger.”

If that’s still what she looks like, why not go for it? She said at the time it wasn’t done growing back out, but that was nine months ago!

And it already looked like this down…

We say, why not let your hair be what it wants to be? Let the curls out, gurl!
