Organizing Check Off Lists Put Moms in Motion This Holiday!

John Trosko Organizer
With the holidays here moms will no doubt inherit more chores, shopping, wrapping, hosting, decorating and seasonal entertaining in addition to regular daily household tasks. That’s why it’s essential to get organized and make use of list-making for the holidays. Lists help to:
• Save time by using the lists year after year;
• Save money and not go over budget;
• Decrease overwhelm by breaking larger tasks into smaller ones;
• Allow you to share the lists with family and see how they’d like to contribute;
• Make you s-l-o-w down and articulate your plans;
• Lessen the fear that you will forget something.

Re-usable lists are most effective for short-term deadline driven events like a holiday dinner. Samples of check off lists could include:
• Holiday menu list;
• Shopping lists for food and beverage;
• Party guest list (names, numbers, emails);
• What is needed to prepare your guest bedroom;
• Cleaning, home maintenance and repair tasks;
• Décor and tabletop ideas;
• List of potluck participants and their dishes;
• Store shopping sales and items to purchase (Black Friday deals).

Save your lists for next season and build on them–imagine how much time you├óΓé¼Γäóll save next year by just altering the prior year├óΓé¼Γäós lists. Congratulate yourself for mastering the muck, and relax knowing you├óΓé¼Γäóll spend more time enjoying family and friends this holiday season (if that├óΓé¼Γäós what you want!)
