JonBenét Ramsey's Once-Suspected Brother Never Speaks About Her At All Anymore

JonBenet Ramsey's Once-Suspected Brother Never Speaks About Her At All Anymore

JonBenét Ramsey‘s older brother wants to leave her murder case in the past.

Ahead of the release of Cold Case: Who Killed JonBenét Ramsey on Netflix, a family member is detailing how the once-suspected Burke Ramsey has no interest in talking about his sister anymore. There’s been a lot of recent chatter about the decades-old tragedy recently, especially with the late pageant queen’s father suggesting police aren’t cooperating with him. But one person who hasn’t been participating in the ongoing investigation is Burke.

The 37-year-old, according to the source for US Weekly on Monday, has completely shut out any memories or conversations about JonBenét:

“Burke doesn’t talk about the case. Ever. He doesn’t talk about JonBenét at all. It’s not a topic of conversation among the family, and he never volunteers anything about her.”

Burke, like his father John Ramsey and mother Patsy Ramsey, was once suspected to have killed the 6-year-old back in 1996. Several theories spread about the parents or the then-9-year-old having been the potential murderers over the years. Armchair detectives often pointed to his awkward, giggly manner in front of the cameras.

Eventually, Burke WAS cleared and said to not be a suspect anymore. But according to the insider, the endless theories online is exactly why the elder Ramsey sibling isn’t interested in opening his mouth on the topic anymore:

“When he was younger, even her name would make him upset, because it was really painful and he didn’t know what to do with it. And then when he was in high school, he knew all the whispers.”

The source said he’s doing his best to avoid the new documentary, as well, because it’s “triggering”:

“He doesn’t read anything about the case, doesn’t watch anything about it. If he sees a show about it, he changes the channel. He’s not the least bit interested in watching any of the documentaries. He’s not going to watch [the Netflix] one. Absolutely not. It’s triggering to him, and there’s no benefit for him.”

The family member said Burke’s upbringing was very “painful” after the death of his sister, too:

“Burke had a very painful and very lonely upbringing. The family tried very hard to shield him, but you can’t shield a kid from the fact that his sister was murdered and everyone thinks that his family did it. Or that he did it.”

Police having taken so long to confirm his innocence to the public also made things much harder for him, per the source:

“He spent his formative years under investigation and, all the while, the cops knew the DNA wasn’t his, but wouldn’t release that. What the Boulder police department did to [John and Patsy] was reprehensible, but what they did to Burke is unforgivable. They took part in destroying a vulnerable little boy’s life.”

Sad… Despite all the heartache, though, the family member says Burke still has a relationship with his family:

“He gets together with [his dad John] sometimes, and they talk about things. [The topic of JonBenét is] not on the table. If we were to bring it up, he’d just shut down. He doesn’t want to talk about that. Ever.”

Wow. What do U think about this, Perezcious readers? Let us know (below).
