Well this isn’t so smart!
Leonardo DiCaprio picked himself up some hardware this week — an award at a ritzy gala in New York City championing him for his environmental awareness — and celebrated it by taking TWO different private jets in the process! Oops!

The Titanic superstar was spotted grabbing private jets from France to NYC and then back to the European nation again surrounding the Riverkeeper Fishermen’s Ball in NYC on Wednesday night, where he was honored alongside Robert De Niro.
The film star flew in on an 8,000 mile trip from Cannes, France for the event, only to fly back out on his second private jet to go to a Cinema Against AIDS gala in France with super models by his side the next day.
Quite the carbon footprint, no?!

Speaking to the Page Six, environmental activist Robert Rapier didn’t exactly hold back in his criticism of Leo’s lack of green activities here:
“[He] demonstrates exactly why our consumption of fossil fuels continues to grow. It’s because everyone loves the combination of cost and convenience they offer. Alternatives usually require sacrifice of one form or another. Everybody says, ├óΓé¼╦£I’ve got a good reason for consuming what I consume’ .├óΓé¼ΓÇ░.├óΓé¼ΓÇ░. It’s the exact same rationalization for billions of people.”
Bam!
A source close to DiCaprio tells a different story, saying that the actor:
“…Hitched a ride with someone already flying back [and] to Cannes. Hitching a ride was the only way he could make it in time for both events.”
Hmmm…
