Lori Loughlin & Mossimo Giannulli Are 'Terrified' Of Going To Prison & Leaving Their Daughters Behind

Lori Loughlin and Mossimo Giannulli are "terrified" about going to federal prison in the college admissions scandal!

If you do the crime, you have to do the time… but that doesn’t mean it’s going to be easy!

Lori Loughlin and husband Mossimo Giannulli are finding that out right now, less than one week after being sentenced to prison time by a federal judge for their roles in the infamous nationwide college admissions scandal. And with two daughters at home and a background that — up until this point, at least — hadn’t included any run-ins with the law, the thought of serving actual time in prison is beginning to get VERY scary.

Vote: What Did You REALLY Think Of Lori Loughlin’s Courtroom Statement After Plea?!

As you’ll recall, the 56-year-old actress received a sentence of two months in federal prison after her guilty plea; her 57-year-old husband has been ordered to five months in a federal facility to go along with his courtroom admission. Now, several insiders have spoken to E! News about how the Full House alum and her fashion designer hubby are handling the thought of being locked behind bars — and it doesn’t sound good.

One source simply said Lori and Mossimo “are terrified about going to jail,” noting specifically that the spread of COVID-19 throughout the American prison system has them on edge about possibly contracting the disease while locked away. We can totally understand that, for these two or anyone else facing prison time, as in many ways this country’s corrections system has completely failed its citizens.

Beyond that, a second source noted how the not knowing is actually the worst part. Olivia Jade and Isabella Rose‘s embattled parents may have received their sentences last week, but they still haven’t been told when and where to report to begin serving time. That’s up to the federal government, and the waiting is brutal — specifically in regards to possibly serving at the same time and leaving their two grown daughters all alone:

“Nothing has been decided about where they are serving. That’s up to the government to determine. They don’t want to have any overlap and leave the girls on their own. They are trying to work out a way that one of them can be in L.A. with the girls while the other is serving their sentence.”

Now, there is some precedent there, at least with celebrities: as you’ll probably recall, reality TV stars Teresa and Joe Giudice had their prison sentences staggered so their daughters wouldn’t be without both parents at the same time. Of course, their daughters were quite a bit younger at that time than the 21-year-old Olivia Jade and her 20-year-old little sis are now. But still…

Also working in Aunt Becky’s favor: the Felicity Huffman precedent! No guarantees here, but a two-month sentence may not actually mean two full months; after all, Huffman was sentenced to fourteen days in prison for her role in this exact same scandal but walked out a free woman on the morning of her 10th day behind bars. A few days here and there may not seem like a big deal to some, but every little bit helps, we suppose!

Regardless, the insider noted there’s a ton of emotion involved in this whole situation, with everyone “worried” about the short-term future and more:

“Everyone is on edge and just trying to hold it together and stay strong.”

No kidding. What do U think about how Aunt Becky and her family are handling this whole thing, Perezcious readers? How would YOU be handling it if you were in her shoes?! Sound off with your take on everything down in the comments (below)…
