On November 29, Matt Lauer was fired from Today after a colleague filed a complaint accusing him of “inappropriate sexual behavior” during the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi, Russia.
In addition to focusing on his professional life, the media is also poking its head into his personal affairs, specifically his 19-year marriage to wife Annette Roque!

A longtime friend tells People their relationship is far from perfect, and the two have endured their fair share of “struggles” through the years.

“By Matt’s own admission there were struggles and challenges with his wife… Like many couples, they struggled with a modern marriage.”

One of those challenges is the news anchor’s reported infidelity. According to another People report published last month, Today staffers “knew he cheated regularly on his wife.”
However, even before they got hitched, Roque was reportedly aware of Matt’s philandering ways. A former longtime colleague says:

“He was a player when she met him and she knew that… Even many years ago, he was a flirt, a philanderer. He did his thing.”

As we reported on Wednesday, the parents of three were both spotted without their wedding bands.
Roque filed for divorce from Lauer in 2006, but withdrew her petition three weeks later.
