Patrick Schwarzenegger Shares A Stranger's Random Act Of Kindness Amid Coronavirus Outbreak -- Take Notes, People!

Patrick Schwarzenegger shares an act of kindness at a local grocery store amid coronavirus panic.

We think everyone could use an uplifting reminder like this right now!

While out shopping in what he said was his third supermarket trip of the morning, Patrick Schwarzenegger took to Instagram on Friday and documented an encounter with a compassionate shopper as he was searching for some toilet paper. As you’re likely aware, there’s been a general state of urgent preparedness over the Coronavirus outbreak and many people are responding by stockpiling household supplies and non-perishable items.

The 26-year-old explained how a stranger offered him a pack of toilet paper after grabbing the last few left ones on the shelves:

“This girl strolls by with her cart and she goes, ‘Are you looking for toilet paper?’ I go, ‘Yeah, I actually am.’ She goes, ‘I just grabbed the last two a few minutes ago. Would you like one of mine? I’d rather you have one and I get one than you have nothing.’ I stood there after and felt, ‘Wow. That was a real feel-good moment that this girl was willing to do that and wanting to do that.'”

Arnold Schwarzenegger and Maria Shriver‘s son ultimately declined the offer but was clearly impacted by the small act of kindness:

“It just got me thinking of little acts of kindness and how in such a weird time like right now, how us as Americans and us as a nation, as neighbors, as humans, can really come together to help one another. We really find ways to help each other.”

“It’s a weird time for everybody so we really don’t know what people are going through and that’s the message here,” added Patrick in his IG video, with rows of empty shelves behind him.

Alongside his video, Patrick urged his millions of followers to reach out to loved ones and be kind during this difficult time:

“Small ACT OF KINDNESS during a crappy day. What a weeks it’s been… think we’re all feeling little off.. I hope we can all use this time to find ways to come together & help others. We don’t know what anyone else if going through right now.. sick or not.. unstable work/economic conditions.. BE KIND TO ONE ANOTHER!!”

Sigh. Truly crazy times we are living in right now!

As we’ve been reporting, Hollywood has been forced to halt production on numerous films and TV shows including reality TV mainstays like The Bachelorette, The Amazing Race, and Survivor. Late-night TV staples like The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, Late Night With Seth Meyers, and Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen are all taking a break, too.

Our thoughts remain with Tom Hanks and wife Rita Wilson, who were the first celebrities to announce they’d tested positive for COVID-19. Utah Jazz players Rudy Gobert and Donovan Mitchell also have confirmed cases of the virus. Thankfully, the aforementioned parties are all reportedly quarantined and on the mend.

To prevent the spread of the virus, the CDC encourages maintaining basic forms of hygiene including careful hand washing, avoiding touching the face, moving away from people who are coughing or sneezing and staying home at signs of illness. Oh, and let’s also take Patrick’s advice and be kind to one another, too!
