Thanks recession!
It seems that the next Pirates of the Caribbean movie won’t only be missing two of it’s stars. It is also losing its big budget!
Sources explain that Disney will be giving director Gore Verbinski a comparably less amount of $$$ for the fourth flick in the franchise, most of which we imagine will be spent on effects and Johnny Depp.
What else is there really?
So what does this mean for the movie?
For audiences, expect to see Capt. Jack wandering around dry land a lot more often than in previous flicks. For the crew, it means shooting scenes in Hawaii and London rather than El and the actual Caribbean for tax incentive purposes. Plus, the shoot has been scaled back by 50 days and some major scenes have been cut from the script due to expense.
Basically, you’re getting half the movie the rest of them were, which should be fine, considering we don’t see Johnny doing too many more of these, if any!
So just enjoy it while you can!
