Move over, Jennifer Lopez and Shakira!

Pitbull is reportedly negotiating with J.Lo and the NFL right now for some type of cameo spot or guest appearance during this year’s Super Bowl Halftime Show! Have no fear, y’all — Mr. Worldwide is here! ¡Dale!

According to insiders with knowledge about the negotiations who spoke this weekend to TMZ, the Miami-based superstar is reportedly in talks with the NFL crew after fans started buzzing about his inclusion — especially considering the game is taking place at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami! Sources say that Pitbull’s team has had “recent talks” with J.Lo and the NFL about doing a guest appearance.

Basically, all of those involved are apparently very aware of the need to have an authentic Miami artist in the stadium at some point during the halftime show — and it has reportedly come down to Pitbull or Gloria Estefan. Also, for what it’s worth, Estefan already has two Super Bowls under her belt: 1992 in Minneapolis, and 1999 in Miami.

Roc Nation — the folks producing the halftime show alongside the NFL — have also teased out the fact that other “surprise acts” will definitely appear on stage with Shakira and J.Lo during the performance. Cool! But obviously, getting somebody like Pitbull for a show in Miami would make a lot of sense.

There’s no deal in place yet, but sources say public momentum is really driving this one. Apparently, the NFL and Roc Nation are both acutely aware of the fans’ desire to make room for a Miami artist — and specifically Pitbull — so it looks like this thing could actually happen. Nothing is official ’til it’s official with a signed contract, though…

With as much controversy has come over Super Bowl halftime shows in the recent past — remember Maroon 5 last year, and all the events leading up to it?! — there’s no question the NFL is hoping for a far smoother, more fan-approved move for this year’s performance. We’ll see if they f**k it up again (very possible!), or make good things happen.
