It’s been 13 years since we saw the finale of Sex & The City, and seven since we last saw the ladies on the big screen. And yet, the debate rages on.
Should Carrie Bradshaw have ended up with Mr. Big??

Sarah Jessica Parker has defended the decision, but the biggest Carrie expert is finally giving her two cents.
Original book author Candace Bushnell told The Guardian this week that she thought Carrie and Big should — and would — not have ended up together if the show’s producers weren’t just trying to please fans.
She explained:

“Well, I think, in real life, Carrie and Big wouldn’t have ended up together. But at that point the TV show had become so big. Viewers got so invested in the storyline of Carrie and Big that it became a bit like Mr Darcy and Elizabeth Bennett.”

Whoa, hold on a sec. Now she’s comparing Chris Noth to our boy Colin Firth? Sorry, but… no. Maybe Matthew Macfadyen. Ha!
But we get what she means — fate and all that. She continued:

“They had become an iconic couple and women really related to it; they would say “I found my Mr Big” or “I just broke up with my Mr Big.” It became part of the lexicon. And when people are making a TV show, it’s show business, not show art, so at that point it was for the audience and we weren’t thinking about what the impact would be 10 years later.”

But now it IS a decade hence. So with the benefit of hindsight, who would YOU pick for Carrie?
Do you agree with Candace? Or are you still Team Big?
