Stephen Colbert comes off as a pretty genuine guy who just likes to make good natured jokes now and then.
That’s why we were so surprised when things got a bit heated when Casey Affleck stopped by Monday night to chat it up with the comedian to help promote his new flick Triple 9.

When Casey first appeared on the late night show, Colbert made a crack about about the actor’s dressed down attire by saying “thanks for dressing up” to which Ben Affleck‘s lil bro took a little offense and thought Stephen was being “rude.”
After the Colbert Report vet tried to explain it was just a joke he was setting up, things started to smooth over but the tension was still obviously there. Then again, since the 40-year-old teamed up with Joaquin Phoenix for their crazy stunt for the film I’m Still Here, we’re not sure what to believe!
