Tamron Hall Fires Back At Claims She 'Blew A Gasket' Over Kelly Clarkson's Talk Show Renewal Before Her Own!

Tamron Hall‘s titular new talk show hasn’t been renewed for a second season yet, but she’s not as bitter about it people may think!

The former Today show co-anchor took to social media on Saturday and fired back at a report published by DailyMail.com which claimed she “blew a gasket” after learning competitor Kelly Clarkson‘s show had been greenlit for a second installment way before hers.

For our readers who may not know, both of the TV hosts’ programs premiered on the same day this past September and drew similar high ratings early on. However, the American Idol alum’s new gig on NBC continued to pull in a steady viewership while Tamron’s fell off and remained that way for the last eight weeks.

The drama began when a source told the online outlet Tamron completely lost her cool backstage upon hearing the news about season two of The Kelly Clarkson Show.

Hall reportedly pointed her frustrations at her own staff and allegedly said:

“We would have gotten an early renewal too if you were all doing a better job!”

Yikes!

The insider continued to spill behind-the-scenes tea and noted the 49-year-old wasn’t jealous, but instead concerned about the direction of her new daytime TV venture:

“She wasn’t mad per se that Kelly’s show got picked up for a second season, but she’s apparently frustrated with the direction of her show and afraid of it becoming a failure after walking away from her job at NBC and banking everything on this opportunity working.”

The confidant also threw Hall under the bus, citing her difficult personality as a roadblock to the show’s success:

“She’s been on edge since the show launched, but each week she’s become more and more difficult to work with.”

You know what they say — a fish rots from the head down. Could Tamron really be the only reason why network executives haven’t signed off on another season yet?

Tamron calls BS!

As we mentioned earlier, the former MSNBC TV personality didn’t take kindly to the reports circulating about her and took to Instagram to air out her grievances.

Hall pointed out what she believes to be deliberately negative news coverage about her, especially in the wake of Gabrielle Union‘s abrupt firing from America’s Got Talent and claims of a “toxic” environment on the competition show’s set. She compared the situations in her lengthy post directed to the DM, which you can read here:

“Welp it was bound to happen the ole difficult and angry is lame. ..So here is my statement. “It’s ironic that a few days after I said on my show that I’ve seen ‘men storm out of rooms, puffing and huffing, and no one says anything’ while ‘women [who] speak up [are viewed] as difficult’ that someone would leak a false story about me being difficult. As I said live on my show while defending Gabrielle Union, women are perceived as ‘difficult’ when they speak up. I have never once complained about Kelly’s renewal – I am so happy for my fellow Texan. I’m excited about my show and I can’t wait for season 2!!”

Hmm. She’s not wrong! But then again, Tamron still has her job while Union remains on the outs with AGT. It’s hard to say if this seemingly bad publicity will have any effect on NBC’s final decision — but Hall made sure to speak her piece, regardless!
