Do we have yet another feud brewing between gal pals Wendy Williams and NeNe Leakes?
It would appear so after the 55-year-old talk show host blasted the Real Housewives of Atlanta cast member on the Monday episode of her titular show. We’re all cooped up inside our homes due to the coronavirus outbreak, so, what could the 52-year-old reality star have done to reignite tensions between them?
Williams used her “Hot Topics” segment to explain how PISSED she was after Leakes allegedly tried to ambush her into an Instagram Live session she did not consent to on Friday!

The Bravo star had been on IG live on that day, FaceTiming with friends after a scheduled appearance with former RHOA co-star Kim Zolciak-Biermann needed to be postponed due to technical difficulties. That’s when NeNe decided to call up Wendy for an impromptu chat, but as we said, the idea didn’t go over very well. Williams explained:
“You know I don’t have face or time for FaceTime, period. If I don’t do it for my own parents of the show, why would I be doing it for someone over there. I like NeNe, but she’s still an over-there person to me!”
Wendy made an appearance on the reality TV show earlier this season in a speakerphone chat with Leakes, but claimed she made it clear she never wanted to participate in that way again:
“Honestly, here’s where the ambush comes in. She said, ‘Wendy, look’ — she was in hair and makeup and wardrobe with all her people — she said, ‘We filming and I want you to be on the speaker.’ I said, ‘NeNe, I did that for you one time.’ Remember my appearance? One time!”
Despite her own tumultuous personal life that seems to mirror the salacious storylines we see on reality TV, the outspoken media personality said she’s above that sort of drama:
“I made it very clear, I am not a Housewife. Sorry, my career is a bit … different … than being a Housewife. I don’t need that kind of attention.”
The former shock jock radio host continued:
“Like, I know I make this look easy and I know I have my ratchet ways, but the fact is I worked 35 years of my life to sit here for 11 seasons. It’s a full motion picture behind the scenes. I’m not slumming for being some add on out the suitcase for some Housewife. And yeah, for me, that is slumming. For where I am.”
Wait, wait a minute here. A wildly popular reality TV show with spinoffs in 10 different cities across America is considered slumming it now?! The cast might be super petty at times, but those Bravo checks have to be pretty good, though, right?
Either way, Wendy didn’t appreciate the phone call; she said she hung up on NeNe and hasn’t spoken to her since.
“Here’s protocol: when you call someone and you want them to participate in something, you call them off speaker in the other room first. ‘Wendy, I want to record with you, do you think you could?’ And I still would have said, ‘No NeNe, I’m not a Housewife.'”
As we mentioned earlier, this isn’t the first time these women have been at odds with each other.

The pair’s friendship hit a snag back in February after Wendy accidentally implied NeNe was quitting the Real Housewives and also hiding a huge “secret” during an episode of the Wendy Williams Show. Leakes responded in her own YouTube video where she denied the speculation and said that Wendy even called her up to apologize about it.
The two were able to make amends then, but we doubt this little spat will just be water under the bridge. Take a look at what NeNe posted just hours after her friend’s rant:
