Viral Video Of Woman Punching Her Dog Triggers Humane Society Investigation!

Woman boxes dog viral video investigation

An Idaho woman is being investigated for animal cruelty after a video on Snapchat showed her punching her dog in the face while wearing boxing gloves.

According to reports, the Idaho Humane Society has launched an investigation into the female they identified from the video.

In the clip, which is making the rounds on social media, a woman is seen wearing athletic gear as she boxes her pet German shepherd. At one point, the man recording can be heard saying:

“We’re boxing animals. Where’s Sarah McLachlan?”

(For those who don’t know, the Sarah McLachlan reference appears to be mocking the singer’s association with animal cruelty prevention organizations.)

The woman punches the dog square in the face nearly a dozen times in the 13-second clip, causing the animal’s head to be snapped to the left and right from the impact. When the woman lands a particularly hard left hook, the dog lets out a yelp, prompting the pet owner to say:

“I hit him so hard I felt that through…”

The man then chuckles as the video cuts off. The now-viral clip was posted on Snapchat, where it offended countless viewers who reportedly contacted the Idaho Humane Society.

The Idaho Humane Society said it received an “overwhelming” number of phone calls and emails about the clip, causing officials to open an investigation and send the case to the prosecutor’s office. In a statement on Facebook, the agency said the woman in the video might be charged with beating and harassing animals, noting:

“The Idaho Humane Society works to protect all animals from abuse. We also believe that because domestic animals are a product of human intervention, we have a very special obligation to them in regard to humane treatment and responsible stewardship.”

As for the woman who used her dog face as a punching bag? She’s allegedly defending her actions.

One social media user who claims to have been in contact with the woman said she insisted she was just playing around and that the canine was not hurt. In a screengrab of the alleged conversation, she said:

“That’s my dog. He plays hard. A girl gunna hit him a little bit and you guys wanna press some girl hitting him with gloves.”

She said in another message:

“Never got hurt and was playing the entire time. I’d never let my dog get hurt… I do what I do with my dog. He thinks it’s a game was he hurt at all in the video or at all? He’s literally laying with me in bed.”

Um?? Just because you didn’t beat your dog to the point of physical injury doesn’t mean you aren’t abusing him, gurl! The woman has since switched her Instagram account to private, so hopefully she’s learned her lesson.

The video in question is below, but warning: some viewers may be heavily disturbed.
