Most rom-coms are supposed to make audiences root for an unlikely couple to fall madly in love with each other, with a few good laughs along the way.
And while some of these films are able to successfully court two characters and solve all their life problems just in time for a post-credits wedding dance party scene, the formulaic nature of these films can often times backfire!

No one wants to relive the disastrous romantic pairing of Katherine Heigl and Gerard Butler in The Ugly Truth. And instead of making audiences laugh in All About Steve, Sandra Bullock proved that no star can avoid the occasional rom-com stinker.
