New year, new baby, new surrogate!
Kim Kardashian West and Kanye West are expecting a fourth child, once again via surrogate, in May 2019, though it’s just now being revealed that the famous couple has chosen a different surrogate this time around from the one they used last year with Chicago West.

According to E! Online, the fam had initially intended to go back to the same surrogate as with Chicago, but the woman ironically got pregnant for herself recently, and so a surrogacy wouldn’t be possible for some time.
Not wanting to wait around too long for baby number four, Kimye opted for a new carrier to move the process along here in early 2019!
A source revealed more about it (below):
“The [new] surrogate is well into the pregnancy. She is due in May and everything looks good. Kim and Kanye have known for awhile and are very excited. They had one male embryo left and are thrilled it has worked out. Kim always wanted four kids and having two boys and two girls feels perfect. They were very happy with the entire experience the first time and are so grateful to have one more baby.”

Another source gave more detail to People about how the current surrogate’s pregnancy has been, too — so far, no red flags or areas of concern:
“Since they had another embryo, Kim and Kanye always knew they wanted to try and implant that embryo too. They hoped to work with the same gestational carrier, but it didn’t work out this time. They are working with a second carrier now that is pregnant and will give birth in the spring. Everything so far has been smooth. Just like the last time, Kim is very involved with the carrier. Kim goes to doctor’s visits with the carrier and makes sure that she has everything she needs. She is a local woman with a family. Kim’s OB/GYN is overseeing her pregnancy.”
Sounds healthy and moving right along like it should be!
As for the family aspect of it, Kim and Kanye have apparently only recently begun telling friends about the big news, too, opting to wait ’til after the holidays before dropping the bomb.

An insider dished:
“They just recently began sharing the news with friends that they were having a fourth. They’ve been so busy with their three kids and the holidays they haven’t had a lot of time to do anything else. Kim will have some sort of shower to celebrate. It’s a different experience for Kim when she isn’t pregnant. But she’s happy she has been through this before and knows what to expect. She had such a positive experience the first time and is really thrilled to be able to do this again this way.”
