Scarlett Johansson Heads To LAPD After Scary Run-In With Paparazzi

Scarlett Johansson has a scary run-in with the paparazzi after 'Jimmy Kimmel' taping.

UPDATE 1:56 P.M. PST:  Since her terrifying run-in, Scarlett Johansson has released a statement to E! News, hoping for some change. She penned:

“The paparazzi consistently go to increasingly dangerous lengths to stalk and harass the people they are photographing. Even after Princess Diana‘s tragic death, the laws were never changed to protect targets from the lawless paparazzi. Many paparazzi have criminal pasts and will perform criminal acts to get their shot.”

The momma of one continued, adding she was followed by FIVE cars with blacked out windows, all of which were running red lights and “putting other drivers and pedestrians at risk so they could follow me to find out where I was staying and subsequently stalk me and my young daughter for the duration of my stay.”
ScarJo further explained how dangerous it can be, sharing:

“The paparazzi put people’s lives at risk, so they can wait for days in quiet neighborhoods in blacked out cars, and try to follow me to the playground and photograph my child and other people’s children in a safe place that should be off limits, but isn’t. All of this is perfectly legal.”

And concluded, again bringing up Princess Diana’s tragic death:

“I felt it was my duty as a concerned citizen who was being pursued dangerously and stalked to go to the local precinct and seek guidance there. I would encourage others in a similar situation to go to the police. Women across the US are stalked, harassed and frightened and a universal law to address stalking must be at the forefront of law enforcement conversations. Until paparazzi are considered by the law for the criminal stalkers they are, it’s just a waiting game before another person gets seriously injured or killed, like Princess Diana.”

Hopefully she won’t have any more stalking incidents like that! How terrifying!

Such a scary, close call for Scarlett Johansson!
With just 17 days until Marvel‘s epic grand finale of Avengers: Endgame premieres, the hype surrounding the upcoming record-breaking sequel is definitely getting real.
But on Monday night, things got a bit out of hand after ScarJo and her co-stars, Robert Downey Jr., Chris Hemsworth, and Paul Rudd, stopped by Jimmy Kimmel Live! to promote their movie’s final installment.

After the show, the 34-year-old actress reportedly headed out to a car that was waiting outside with two other people. According to Capt. Steve Laurie of the Los Angeles Police Department Hollywood Division, who shared a statement with the press, Johansson wasn’t driving Monday night.
But Captain Lurie explained that Scarlett believed the paparazzi were following her “in a dangerous fashion.”
We know these big press tours are part of the business when you’re an actor, but it also doesn’t mean that anyone deserves next-level harassment while they’re doing it either.

According to the full police report, the actress came into the police department after the paps stormed her, but no official crime was reported. Additionally, the report includes that Johansson stopped for a while, before ultimately getting home safely at the end of the night.

Phew! Glad things ended up okay!

You can watch the star-studded conversation on Kimmel (below) before the 34-year-old’s day ended on a sour note:

While we don’t condone any sort of harassment like that by the press or photographers, we can definitely see why there might have been more of a frenzy than usual at this particular appearance.
At another recent cast event on Good Morning America with other stars from the film, including Jeremy Renner, Chris Evans, and Mark Ruffalo, the Captain America actor acknowledged how big of a deal this sequel is for fans.
Teasing the finale, Evans said:

“Like TV shows, when you have the final finale, how many times do they stick the landing? How many times do you walk away saying, ‘I exactly wanted that…’ This movie will really, I think they deliver, I think they really do stick the landing.”

Thoughts, Perezcious readers?? Are YOU hyped for the Avengers finale?
Were you even able to snag tickets??
