Amber Portwood‘s daughter Leah is ready to make some big decisions.
As you know, the Teen Mom star and her 16-year-old daughter have had a rocky relationship for quite some time. In a recent episode of The Next Chapter, Leah even said she’s getting ready to start therapy to deal with her abandonment issues surrounding her mom never being around — and now she’s taking even more steps toward healing.

On Thursday’s episode of the MTV reality show, the teen said she wants her dad Gary Shirley‘s wife Kristina to adopt her because she’s done with Amber:
“I haven’t really talked to [Amber] or seen her in awhile. It’s fine. I don’t really care anymore. I kind of want Kristina to adopt me. I’ve been wanting it for awhile just because Kristina’s been there for me since I was, like, in kindergarten and before that.”
Of course, this would be super tough on Amber, as an insider told US Weekly last summer that it would “never happen” on her watch.
The 34-year-old previously opened up about her relationship with her daughter, saying her mental health diagnoses were a big factor in it not being a steady one. But Leah still holds some resentment, understandably so. She said in Thursday’s episode that she just “can’t handle it”:
“When I do see her, she acts like everything is perfectly fine, and I haven’t seen you in months. Why are you talking to me like this? Obviously she has a lot of things going on, lots of difficulties, but I feel like I can’t handle it. I wish I could but I can’t.”
Still, the teen believes “it would be good” to have a sit down with her mom, but she doesn’t know when the right time to do that would be. Such a rough situation. What do U think, Perezcious readers? Let us know in the comments (below).
