Hilary Duff is finally back in character as a grown up Lizzie McGuire, and her baby daddy is ready to unleash his inner grown up Gordo.
The Younger star took to Instagram on Tuesday to share a first look at herself in costume as adult Lizzie from the first day on set of the Disney+ revival.
Fans were ecstatic over the sight — but the visual evoked a strong response from one user in particular: the actress’ fiancé, Matthew Koma!

The Winnetka Bowling League member was inspired to leave a sexy, mildly NSFW comment on the Duffster’s pic, writing:
“Ugh I can’t wait to role play.”
LOLz… lucky guy!
The comment went over well with fans, many of whom wrote “dead” under Koma’s remark because it was just that good. Others, meanwhile, were curious which role the rocker would play opposite Lizzie.
One user asked:
“real question is…Gordo, Ethan or Ronnie the paper boy?”
Or if they really want to spice things up: Kate!
No matter which role he chooses, it’s safe to say Duff’s fans approve of this tentative activity. Koma’s comment has already garnered over 6,000 likes and more than 200 replies.
Role playing propositions aside, the mother-of-two’s pic has gotten much attention. The starlet is seen beaming as she rocks a yellow and black houndstooth blazer and matching mini-skirt along with black ankle boots and a stylish mustard yellow coat.
Her caption was expertly crafted to evoke major early aughts nostalgia with a nod to the performer’s seminal 2004 hit Come Clean, which dropped a month before the final Lizzie McGuire episode aired on February 14, 2004.
She wrote:
“Happy first LIZZIE day!!!!! NYC…..cue the rain ? ✌? ☺️ ? #lizziemcguire”
Fans caught on, with many leaving “Let the rain fall down” as their comment to the cute pic.
As we reported, Duff’s beloved character is now a “30-year-old millennial navigating life” in NYC, and is said to still have that debilitating cartoon alter ego in her head. The 32-year-old shared the news at the D23 Expo in Anaheim, California earlier this year, telling the audience:
“The good news is, just like me and everybody who loved Lizzie and has grown up with her, Lizzie’s also grown up. She’s older, she’s wiser, she has a much bigger shoe budget, which is super exciting. She has her dream job. She has kind of the perfect life right now… She’s working as an apprentice to a fancy New York City decorator. She has her dream guy, who owns a cool SoHo restaurant. She has her dream apartment in Brooklyn. And she’s getting ready to celebrate her 30th birthday.”
