Illegal Ivory Trade On The Rise And At An All Time High

Sad…ivory trading has been illegal since 1989, but nothing is stopping it!!
In fact…it’s growing…maybe even booming business.
Studies have shown that as the demand for ivory increases in China and more and more organized crime syndicate join the trade, the ivory industry will continue to skyrocket.
In 2011, over 2,500 tons of ivory were SEIZED, meaning much more could have been taken.
The good news is that efforts to stop these horrid crimes are getting serious. China has sentenced 32 people to life in prison for illegal ivory trade, and public education is teaching citizens the dangers and harmful effects of ivory hunting on elephants.
We just hope SOMETHING will curb and ultimately stop these crimes!
