Ohio Man Accused Of Beating Girlfriend's 1-Year-Old Son To Death & The Injuries Are BEYOND Horrific!

A Cincinnati man is accused of murdering his girlfriend’s toddler son earlier this month, and the injuries the baby sustained in the incident leading up to his death are simply unfathomable.

Edward Murray (pictured above in his mugshot) was arrested and charged last week with murder after the death of his girlfriend Aminata Keita‘s 1-year-old son. The deceased baby boy was initially only identified as K.K. in charging documents, but Hamilton County Prosecuting Attorney Melissa Powers later revealed to multiple media outlets in the southern Ohio city that the child’s name was Kareem Keita.

According to Powers, Kareem was killed back on May 1. He was only eventually brought to a hospital in Cincinnati four days later, on May 5, where he was officially pronounced dead. Seeing the condition the boy’s body was in when he was brought to the emergency room, hospital staffers immediately called the police. And when detectives began to investigate, they discovered an absolutely sickening story.

An autopsy was performed on the toddler, and it found multiple severe injuries. Kareem suffered cardiac arrest while being beaten, which is what led to his death. In addition to that, he suffered what was listed in the autopsy as a “severe diffuse hypoxic-ischemic injury.” That occurs when a human’s brain does not receive enough oxygen or blood flow, and goes into arrest.

Kareem also suffered multiple skull fractures both on the right side and the back of his head. In turn, those caused a subdural hemorrhage, which is what happens when blood leaks into the sensitive membrane that lines the path between the skull and the brain. His brain was also swelling severely from being beaten and bashed by the time investigators came across his body.

In addition, Kareem suffered at least one rib fracture, retinal hemorrhages from being beaten about the eyes, and severe lacerations to his liver. The autopsy report quotes physicians at the hospital who first observed the condition of Kareem’s body. Those doctors indicated that the little boy’s injuries “could only have occurred from violent impacts against objects or from delivered blows.”

Sickening…

As for the backstory, prosecutors contend that on May 1, Murray — who had been dating Aminata for about three months — was playing outside with Kareem. That evening, Murray brought Kareem into the house and put him “directly to bed” without eating dinner. Murray was then said to have spent “several minutes” with the boy inside the bedroom. Then, the 23-year-old man and Aminata allegedly smoked marijuana together for several hours. Prosecutors say neither one of them checked on the baby for the rest of the night. The next morning, Murray was again reportedly alone with Kareem.

Regarding those periods in which Murray had access to Kareem, Powers’ statement sent to local news outlets WLWT, WCPO, and others claimed:

“Murray was unable to provide any alternate explanation for how K.K. could have been injured so severely.”

Powers went on to add:

“This case is both heartbreaking and sickening. I cannot imagine the amount of evil required to hurt an innocent child so severely. It is genuinely disturbing to think someone capable of doing this might walk among us.”

Per People, which viewed online court records on Wednesday, Murray has been indicted on two counts of murder, one count child endangerment, and one count of felonious assault. He is currently being held in Cincinnati’s Hamilton County Jail on $1 million bail.
