Stephen Belafonte Requests Spousal Support In His Response To Mel B's Divorce Filing

Mel B‘s divorce just got messier.
As we previously reported, the Spice Girls alum filed for divorce from her husband, Stephen Belafonte, back in March. And the legal proceedings are certainly contentious as Scary Spice has accused her (even scarier) ex of domestic abuse and cheating. And let’s not forget his illegal firearms scandal. Yikes.

While the film producer has since clapped back at the mother of his children in the press, it seems Belafonte has finally responded to the British singer’s divorce filing. It’s said Stephen responded to his wife’s petition for divorce and requested that he receive spousal support in documents filed on April 3. Sorry, Scary!
According to docs obtained by DailyMail.com, the 41-year-old is looking to terminate the court’s ability to award support to the America’s Got Talent judge. Oh, and he wants his former flame to pay his legal fees too!
Not to mention, Stephen is also seeking joint legal and physical custody of the couple’s daughter, Madison. Although, we doubt the El Lay native will be getting a ton of quality time with his daughter as the restraining order Mel B has out against him requires the industry vet to stay away from ALL of the TV personality’s kids.
The A-lister’s estranged spouse also noted that their separation date started on March 1. Huh.
Sadly, we have a feeling Mel B is going to be locked in a nasty divorce battle with her ex for some time. Stay strong, girl!
