Tips To Help Find Lost Pets

Tips to help find your lost pet

For any readers who have recently lost a pet or in case (hopefully not) one goes missing the future, here are some tips to enhance the chance of finding it.

They are:

Check all area shelters and rescue groups: Go in PERSON to the larger shelters in the area and also CALL every shelter in the area to provide information about the lost pet including a picture and where it was last seen.

Post “lost” fliers in all permissible places: Make sure to get permission for every location and blanket a large area surrounding the pets last known whereabouts. If possible, offering a REWARD will increase the chances of people remembering and acting on the information they read from the flier.

Place a classified ad in the “lost” sections of your local newspaper: Make sure to include a PHOTO along with a detailed description because sometimes people who find a lost animal will look in a local paper to find the owner.

Start looking early and keep looking: Don’t hesitate to wait and enlist friends or family to help survey the area in hopes of finding it before an animal control agency or someone else finding it first.

Remember persistence and dedication are KEY when searching for a lost pet, so do not give up!

We don’t want your pet to end up in a shelter and be unnecessarily adopted or worse!

However, we hope most will not ever need these tips, but to all those that do, good luck!
