Barbra Streisand is addressing the controversy over her blunt AF comment about Melissa McCarthy’s weight! If you didn’t see, the Bridesmaids actress took to Instagram on Monday in a pastel green ensemble that showcased her slim figure.
And Babs didn’t sugar coat a bold question in the comments! In a since-deleted response, she straight up asked Melissa, “Did you take Ozempic?” Whaaaaa???
Oof! The 82-year-old faced a lot of flack for it, with many pointing out her age likely has a lot to do with lack of social media prowess. You can see all the comments HERE.

And on Tuesday, Barbra took a moment to explain herself! In a post on X (Twitter), the Yentl star wrote:
“OMG. I went on Instagram to see the photos we’d posted of the beautiful flowers I’d received for my birthday! Below them was a photo of my friend Melissa McCarthy who I sang with on my Encore album.”
She continued:
“She looked fantastic! I just wanted to pay her a compliment. I forgot the world is reading!”

As for what she said? We just love how overtly Hollywood that was as a compliment! Oh you look great, are you on that controversial fad diabetes medication? So El Lay!
As for Melissa, she doesn’t seem bothered. Soon after Babs’ post, TMZ shared paparazzi footage of the Gilmore Girls alum addressing the situation. She said:
“I think Barbra is a treasure, and I love her.”
