In an interview with Marie Claire magazine, Eva Mendes reveals she and her Belgian Malinois dog, Hugo, speak only French with one another.

But it's not for some snooty or weird reason.

Eva said:

Eva Mendes brought her gorgeous Belgian Malinois, Hugo, to the salon with her.

When mama goes to the salon, her gentle giant comes along with her.

Even though he's her "attack dog" we still think he's a little cutey. Even though he's far from little.

Beware of Hugo!

Eva Mendes has been keeping her loyal dog, Hugo, close since a crazed fan turned up on her doorstep last month.

The Other Guys star who was spotted walking with Hugo again Friday, recently obtained a restraining order against a man who, according to her filing, falsely believes that he has a relationship with the actress and thinks she is 'willing to die for him.'

Poor Eva says this man has been harassing her for the past three years with both notes and audio recordings.

The actress clearly feels safer with Hugo, her Belgian Malinois, by her side, who she has described as 'a really sweet attack dog.'

Hugo has protected Mendes in the past, most dramatically against a coyote that was crossing the road in front of her car and the giant hound tried to jump through the windscreen of her Lexus to attack it.

The faboosh Ms. Eva Mendes was spotted picking up her dog in LA, Tuesday.

As Eva and her furry pal headed to the car they ran into actor pal Eric Dane.

After a short chat, Eva and her puppy, Hugo headed home.

It was announced yesterday that the sexy star is going to be a featured talent in Apple & iW Tribeca Meet the Filmmaker Series in NYC next week.

Hope Hugo gets to come too!

Eva Mendes was spotted walking with her man friend Hugo the dog in West Hollywood, Wednesday.

The thirty seven year old Latina just made her return from Vancouver, Canada where she is busy at work on her latest film, Ansiedad.

In the dramedy, Eva stars as a struggling single mother of a 13 year old girl who decides to rebel against her life by going on some teenage rite of passage. Shooting began at the end of February and it co-stars Matthew Modine and Landon Liboiron.

We must admit, it's refreshing to see a celebrity with a dog that won't fit in their purse.

Eva Mendes was spotted walking her dog in Los Angeles on Tuesday afternoon.

It looks like she is either about to block her face from photographers or sneeze.
